Mountain Wildlife

I needed a masculine card for someone I know that has recently had surgery. I bought these dies months ago, but this is the first time I’ve used them. They are super fun and easy and I should’ve been cranking cards out with them sooner! I took my inspiration from another Demonstrator that I happened upon online. Her name is Pam Nichols and you can see her blog post here.

I chose to only have the Designer Series Paper layer on the card base and I popped the die cut up using our Black Dimensionals. I am loving this mountain background for the sweet little deer. I don’t feel like the card needs any extra embellishments, so I left it like this and I am loving it!

Balloon of Heal-ium for a Special Someone

Today’s card has an adorable little mouse holding a “heal-ium” filled balloon (that is the sentiment stamped inside). I just adore the Special Someone stamp set in the 2020 Spring Mini catalog. It also has a raccoon and a squirrel. It’s a two-step stamp set, so you can use a darker ink for the outline detailing and a lighter shade to color the inside quickly and easily. You could also choose to stamp the outline and color in the images with watercolor pencils or Stampin’ Blends. Lots of coloring options. I also adore these shades of purple and I hope the recipient likes them, too!

A Country Recovery

Today’s card was created for the ever lovely Jean, who is laid up in a rehab facility, due to a broken femur.  She loves yellow and green so I naturally used those colors for the base and layers. I love the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder and knew it would make a gorgeous backdrop for the watering can by using Copper Foil. I kept the copper theme going with the embossing powder for the sentiment in the Healing Hugs set as well as the Designer Elements.

A Country Recovery
On this close-up, you can see how I used the new Snowfall Accents Puff Paint (available in the 2019 Holiday Catalog) to mimic cotton. I should have used a little bit more, but this was my first time using it and I didn’t want to go overboard. It makes for a very unique texture and I’m glad I gave it a try.

Back On Your Feet Trio – Card 3

Today’s card features the sad, upside down turtle from the Back On Your Feet stamp set on page 83 of the Annual Catalog. Yesterday’s card featured a poor little sloth, which you can see here. Card 1 from two days ago is a giraffe tied in a knot. You can see that card here. I can commiserate with this little turtle. Sometimes we get turned upside down and all we can do is SIGH. He’s stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Stampin’ Blends. I thought the Arrows Embossing Folder was a good match for this card. I love the greens and browns together and enjoyed dusting off some retired Always Artichoke cardstock and ink and a super old roll of Old Olive ribbon.

Back On Your Feet Trio – Card 2

Today’s card features the poor little sloth from the Back On Your Feet stamp set on page 83 of the Annual Catalog. Yesterday’s card featured a giraffe tied in a knot. You can see that card here. Tomorrow’s card will have the upside down turtle. This sad, hurt little sloth can’t make it out of his little tree. Poor thing! He’s stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Stampin’ Blends. The Layered Leaves Dynamic Embossing Folder is embossed on the Old Olive layer. It coordinates perfectly with the leaves on the stamp as well as the wooden leaves from the Sale-a-Bration Butterfly Elements that were available at the beginning of this year.

Back On Your Feet Trio – Card 1

Who doesn’t love a sweet card when you’re feeling down, under the weather, or have an owie? The Back On Your Feet stamp set on page 83 of the Annual Catalog fits almost any situation. There’s a tied up giraffe, hurt sloth and upside down turtle. I’ll be sharing cards made with the sloth and turtle in the next two days, but for now, here’s the poor little giraffe. He’s stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Stampin’ Blends. I thought it would be cute to add the braided linen trim to correlate to the knot. It’s difficult to see in the photo, but I also used the Subtle Embossing Folder on the black layer. Just look at that face – so sad! This could definitely cheer someone up!

Quick and Easy Get Well Butterflies

Today’s card is super quick and easy with pretty die cutting details and wooden butterfly embellishments that I colored in Rich Razzleberry with a sponge dauber.

The Butterfly Elements are another option in the Sale-a-Bration brochure…free with a $50 purchase. You receive 84 pieces that you can leave as is, or color with ink like I did! They coordinate beautifully with the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (also a Sale-a-Bration choice) as well as the Gingham Gala suite on pages 34-35 in the Occasions Catalog. So fun!

Lasting Lily Wishing You Well

Tomorrow is the big day! All the items I’ve been sharing with you from the 2019 Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration Brochure will be available to you! Today’s sneak peek is the Sale-a-Bration stamp set Lasting Lily. This 16 piece photopolymer set is part of Stampin’ Up!’s DistINKtive stamps line, which have the unique ability to apply color in differing degrees so one stamp shows many shades. They are so pretty! Most items in the Sale-a-Bration brochure are free with a $50 product purchase. But because this is a larger stamp set, you can earn it with a $100 purchase. It is so worth it – there are two different lilies with stems and leaves as well as 10 sentiments! I will be using this set for my Easter cards this year.

Frosted Healing Hugs

I had debated back and forth about the Frosted Floral suite in the Holiday Catalog on pages 36 – 37. It is so pretty. But I have so many flower stamp sets already. But it is so pretty. Oh boy…this is how my mind works, people. After seeing so many beautiful samples online, I decided I simply had to have it. And by that, I mean the entire suite. Because no one wants regrets once it’s too late, right?  So here we have a pretty, bright cheerful Get Well card. The sentiments from the Healing Hugs set are perfect. I love the font with the flowers. And does the Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper look a little…uh…fuzzy and frosty in the photo? That’s because there is a shimmer beyond gorgeous on it that the camera cannot do justice to!

Bushel of Healing Hugs

There’s a sweet lady I know that, unfortunately, needed surgery. Before I even sat down at my craft table to create her a card, I knew I wanted to use the Healing Hugs stamp set. I also knew I wanted the rose to be stamped in Blueberry Bushel. I was inspired by a bold card I had spotted online. I decided to pair it with a very pale green for the leaves to help intensify the already brilliant blue. I had just received the Tufted Dynamic Embossing Folder from my beautiful man in brown (UPS driver) earlier that day and thought it would be just lovely as the background texture.

Bushel of Healing Hugs

I colored the Pearl Basic Jewels with my Dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends marker. Usually I struggle to remove the jewels with my paper snips or paper piercer, trying to make sure the adhesive on the back comes off with the jewels and doesn’t stick to the paper backing. Let’s talk about this for just a moment. This time, I used the new Take Your Pick tool and it was a dream! This new multipurpose tool includes a piercer, stylus and putty to pick up small items…and a spatula! The spatula slipped right under my pearls and I am tickled pink! You simply MUST get one! Here’s a quick 3 minute YouTube video that shows all the bells and whistles:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nihh0cc81pU&feature=youtu.be
