Amazing Balloon Celebration

I am so in love with the font of the sentiment “celebrate” in the Sale-a-Bration set Amazing You. I’m foreseeing a LOT of Birthday cards featuring it! Sometimes I forget about the extra dies in the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits set, so when I decided on the banner in it, my eyes drifted onto the die that makes a row of circles. Perfect for that extra little pop of shine! This card makes me especially happy since it features the colors of my Alma Mater, Lakeshore Public Schools – Go Big Red!

Happy Early Caffeine Burst

A friend’s Birthday is right around the corner and I felt the Coffee Cups framelits would be perfect for her. I’ve been using up a lot of my Designer Series Paper lately in my efforts to #cutitdonthoardit, but I was really keeping a tight grip on this particular sheet of coffee rings. I just love it as the background and I’m so glad I used it, along with some Color Theory DSP for the cup. There’s a lot of dimension going on here, as I popped up the Crumb Cake oval, the cup, the sleeve and the lid. I think it allows the thickness of the Bitty Bow to fit in quite well. The Magnetic Platform is a dream come true, cutting out the shapes without the dies moving on me. I hope my friend likes her card as much as I enjoyed making it!

P.S. Big thanks to Hunter for telling me to put the ribbon behind the oval. I struggled a little with that placement!

I am just loving this color combo! Berry Burst pops brilliantly against the shades of brown. Pin this color combo for inspiration!

Simple Touch of Sympathy

Unfortunately, there are times in our lives that we need to make sympathy cards. I prefer floral cards with a small spot of color. I enjoy sponging color onto the wooden Touches of Nature Elements. Just make sure you protect your table. Use a scrap of paper and sponge onto the wooden piece while it’s laying on it. If you try to hold it while sponging, the ink will not cover it completely. This card also uses a couple retired products, but you can always substitute similar ribbon and Designer Series Paper.

Simple Touch of Sympathy

Be Bold – Class of 2018

I always make cards for my children for their first day of school. It’s surreal knowing my youngest is beginning her last year of High School. Many people say, “Where did the time go?” To quote the end of a poem my sister wrote back in 1988 during her Senior year, “WHY did the time go?” I love you, Hunter, and hope your Senior year is a fantastic, amazing experience!

This is the first card I’ve made using the Eclipse Lettering Technique. I love the look of it. I tried capturing photos where you can see the “shadow” by having the Basic Black behind it. I inked up the “be” from a stamp in the Colorful Seasons set that says “beautiful”. The water under the girl is from High Tide. I die cut the letters first, then put them back together like a puzzle, gluing down the inside pieces first, then popping the letters up with mini-dimensionals. By die cutting first, I was able to stamp the girl right where I wanted her to be.
