Lily Fun Fold for #JOSTTT016

JOSTTT016Today’s card is my submission for The Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe April 2020 Challenge #JOSTTT016. I used Flowers, Ink Blending, and Designer Paper.  I thought I’d do a fun fold that would showcase both sides of this beautiful Lily Impressions DSP.  Please don’t ask what this fold is called, because I have no idea! Sale-a-Bration is over, but I will still use these beautiful Lily products! I stamped the lily in Lovely Lipstick, then made a small pool of Wink of Stella on my scrap paper and used the Aqua Painter to pick up some Flirty Flamingo ink and added it to the WOS and watercolored the flower that way. I hit it with the Heat Tool on setting 1 to dry it quickly. I also hit it with heat on the backside to help flatten it out. I die cut it out and layered it onto a second die cut from Lovely Lipstick. So pretty!

Shimmering Power of Hope

Deep, rich shades of blues and greens and purples absolutely thrill me. They are my favorite colors and evoke such pleasure. Please tell me I’m not the only one that is affected by colors in this way. Adding shimmer to them takes them beyond gorgeous! I believe this card epitomizes my life colors.

Grape Peacock NavyI started with a piece of watercolor cardstock and sponged on Gorgeous Grape, Night of Navy, and Pretty Peacock. I spritzed water on and blended them. After I dried it with the heat tool, it was still a little light, so I proceeded to do another layer. After heat drying it again, I loved it. But I wanted more…so I put a little bit of Frost White Shimmer Paint into a spritzer and filled it ¾ full with isopropyl alcohol. The alcohol makes it dry faster. I used a very heavy hand to spritz it all over the layer. FYI – if you rub on it, the shimmer paint will still rub off even after drying, so I recommend using a clear envelope for the recipient.

Shimmering Power of Hope Close Up

I stamped the sentiment from the Sale-a-Bration set Power of Hope on a scrap of Whisper White and die cut it out with the Layering Circles Dies and glued that onto a piece of Pretty Peacock punched with the new Label Me Lovely punch that is available in the 2020 Spring Mini catalog.  I colored the linen part of the Pretty Peacock ½” Scalloped Linen Ribbon with the Dark Basic Black Blend and finished it off with some Pretty Peacock Rhinestones.Shimmering Power of HopeIf I were a card, this would be me.

Snowball Juggling in a Winter Wonderland

Here’s another fun card from the Let It Snow Suite on pages 18-21 of the Holiday Catalog. I told you yesterday I would play with the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint soon…and I couldn’t stop thinking about it until I did it! With this card, I wanted to show off the sparkling glitter on the trees, so I opted for the smaller, snowball juggling snowman and placed him off to the side. I’m sorry you can’t see that detail on the paper, but believe me…it’s there! I decided to stamp the inside with the sentiment “Winter Wonderland” from Everything Festive because that’s all I could think about with those fun trees.

Snowman Juggling in a Winter Wonderland

Here’s a close up of the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint. It’s so much fun! Just make sure your heat tool is already hot when you start and it only takes a few seconds to see it change from liquid to puff! Oh – and if you look at the middle tree above the snowman, you can catch a little glimpse of the glitter on the tree.

A Country Recovery

Today’s card was created for the ever lovely Jean, who is laid up in a rehab facility, due to a broken femur.  She loves yellow and green so I naturally used those colors for the base and layers. I love the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder and knew it would make a gorgeous backdrop for the watering can by using Copper Foil. I kept the copper theme going with the embossing powder for the sentiment in the Healing Hugs set as well as the Designer Elements.

A Country Recovery
On this close-up, you can see how I used the new Snowfall Accents Puff Paint (available in the 2019 Holiday Catalog) to mimic cotton. I should have used a little bit more, but this was my first time using it and I didn’t want to go overboard. It makes for a very unique texture and I’m glad I gave it a try.

Seaside Dandelion

I apologize for how long it’s been since my last post. I had ankle surgery on September 11th and expected to be able to do lots of stamping while recovering. Definitely not the case when you find out you have to keep your ankle elevated above your heart level for the first couple weeks! I was able to sit down and do some stamping last night. I know everyone is into the autumn and winter cards right now, but I just adore the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper and wanted to base my card on the gorgeous shades of green. Hunter selected my stamp sets for me based on the leafy design. I think it turned out so pretty!

Seaside Dandelion

I decided to emboss the dandelion in white for a subtle background look. Here’s a close-up view for you:

Vintage Happy Birthday with Ranger UTEP

Vintage Happy Birthday

Hmmm…what is UTEP you might be asking yourself as you scratch your head. Well, let me tell you! It stands for Ultra Thick Embossing Powder and it gives the same effect that Crystal Effects used to! I discovered this awesome product while watching a card making video. The powder has large crystals, so it can be a little messy…just remember to heat from the underside so the crystals don’t fly away! It’s a Ranger product and I was able to find it at Michael’s craft store.
Ranger UTEP
It’s a beautiful effect on the Happy Birthday Thinlits die. I made this card for a certain daughter who loves photography and aquamarine shades. I felt like going with a little vintage feel. I think she liked it.

Sparkling Smile

I finally had a chance to ink up this set and it is just so much fun! Using White Embossing Powder for the letters helps them to pop out and the raised effect makes it all the more realistic. I wanted a little pop of color and Melon Mambo provided it beautifully. I embellished it with sparkling Rhinestone Basic Jewels colored with the Light Real Red Stampin’ Blends marker because the inside sentiment reads, “ Your sparkle has not gone unnoticed.” The letter board is perfectly sized to fit the Layering Squares Framelits, which makes this card not only super cute, but super easy, too, as I die cut it out and popped it up on Dimensionals. I should’ve taken a sideways photo so you can see it. Super fun!
