Timeless Tea Tin

I simply adore the new Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper available in the new 2020 Spring Mini. I performed a little cutting magic with the Stitched So Sweetly die I used. It is scalloped on all four sides, but I cut off the top and bottom scallops using the new Mini Paper Cutter, which is perfect for small precision cuts. What a great way to decorate one of the Copper Tea Tins (available in the Annual Catalog), right? I filled the tin with a delicious tea called Made From Love made by the company Friday Teas. This would make a great Mother’s Day gift…although I’m probably jumping the gun on that. That’s ok, though, since I gifted it to myself! Perfectly restful and relaxing!

Snowball Juggling in a Winter Wonderland

Here’s another fun card from the Let It Snow Suite on pages 18-21 of the Holiday Catalog. I told you yesterday I would play with the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint soon…and I couldn’t stop thinking about it until I did it! With this card, I wanted to show off the sparkling glitter on the trees, so I opted for the smaller, snowball juggling snowman and placed him off to the side. I’m sorry you can’t see that detail on the paper, but believe me…it’s there! I decided to stamp the inside with the sentiment “Winter Wonderland” from Everything Festive because that’s all I could think about with those fun trees.

Here’s a close up of the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint. It’s so much fun! Just make sure your heat tool is already hot when you start and it only takes a few seconds to see it change from liquid to puff! Oh – and if you look at the middle tree above the snowman, you can catch a little glimpse of the glitter on the tree.

Focus on Pretty Peacock

I adore all the new 2019-2021 In Colors, but Pretty Peacock is definitely my favorite. Here’s a quick and easy card focusing on that gorgeous, regal color. The script side of the double sided Designer Series Paper flows perfectly with the lovely font of the sentiment from the Floral Essence stamp set. The Scalloped Linen Ribbon adds just the right amount of texture and the Faceted Dots give a sprinkle of sparkle. A naturally charming card!

#JOSTTT006 June Challenge – Perennial Beauty

Time for a new monthly challenge over at The Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe challenge blog (check it out here)! I was super excited to be named one of their top 3 for last month’s May challenge. (You can see my entry here.)JOSTTT Top 3Here’s the #JOSTTT006 June Challenge:#JOSTTT006I did the second row: Pattern Paper – Banner – Floral

I am featuring items from the Perennial Essence Suite on pages 106-107 of the new Annual Catalog. This Designer Series Paper…Oh My! It is beyond beautiful! I kept the card simple to highlight this gorgeous paper. The Vellum cardstock is soft and pretty and the Floral Centers are amazing! Just like it’s from a real flower! Wrap it all up with the coordinating Perennial Flower Punch and you have a quick and easy card.

I first stamped the sentiment in Crushed Curry and I really liked it since it’s the same color as the Floral Center. However, when I showed it to Queen Hunter, she said she would prefer it stamped in Blackberry Bliss. Hence, two cards showing both options.

Watercolor Wishes Quick and Simple

I decided to dust off a couple retired products – we all have them and we all need to use them more! A couple years ago, there was a beautiful card kit called Watercolor Wishes. I just love the stamp set and knew the “You’re Amazing” sentiment was the perfect size for the 1″ slot I created. This layout is super easy – just cut your top layer piece 1″ shorter than a standard layer. Then, put it in the trimmer at whatever angle suits you and give it a cut. Glue it down with the end borders even and…TADA! A quick, easy way to add interest to your card!  Isn’t this Designer Series Paper just adorable? It’s only available for a couple more days – free with a $50 minimum purchase – during Sale-a-Bration!

The other dusty items on these cards are the Brights Collection Buttons. OMGoodness…I have no idea how old they must be! Anyone care to guess? I topped the buttons with some Whisper White Baker’s Twine tied in a triple bow. I first made a standard bow, but the twine was a bit too small for the scale of the buttons.

Celebrating with Tea

I had a super fun catalog party just over a week ago and my sweet mother was looking through the catalogs. She enjoys finding sample cards she likes and wants me to make them for her. I’m not complaining…who doesn’t love any excuse to add to their stash, right? She even buys the products, so bonus for me! One of the cards she liked is found on page 195 of the Annual Catalog. And it just happened to be made with the Tea Room Memories & More Card Pack. It’s a great deal at just $10 as it consists of several 4″ x 6″ and 3″ x 4″ double sided cards and adhesive backed labels and stickers. And not just thin stickers…I’m talking super thick, durable ones. It’s a breeze making quick and easy cards that are super sweet, just like this one. The color wash and flowers are pre-printed on the small card. I layered it onto coordinating Calypso Coral card stock and put that onto a large card cut down to fit. The Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon isn’t part of the suite, but it matches beautifully. I capped it off with some mini pearls that are now, unfortunately, retired. So pretty!
