Perfect Measure

I needed to make a couple cards this evening and knew I wanted to use Perfect Mix from the Occasions Catalog. Instead of standing in front of my cardstock for hours, I decided to let Hunter choose my color palette…and she picked a fun one!

Daffodil Olive Wisteria

This stamp set is absolutely adorable – I love puns! The countdown is on – just one month left to grab this set before it’s gone gone gone! Don’t be sad that you let it get away from you!

Anchor Greetings

I apologize for the length of time since my last upload. Things have been chaotic around here, to say the least. Life marches on, however, and the clock was ticking down to get my swap cards out. I knew I wanted to participate in the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge. It’s the first time I planned to contribute…the perfect challenge to join in on. It’s the WWC116 – Kath’s Masculine “Anything Goes” Challenge. Unfortunately, the challenge closed yesterday evening. That’s ok, though, because sometimes we just need a little nudging to get our creative juices flowing, right?  So here’s my “Color Challenge” to inspire you:Dapper Garden MarinaSometimes the hardest part of putting a card together is just deciding on colors. I went with a few of my favorites…blues and green. Once I picked my colors, the rest of the card came together quite quickly. It was nice being able to just stamp for an hour.  The die used to cut out the sentiment is from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits collection. It is a perfect fit – with just enough room for an enamel shape! Between the enamel shape and the Burlap Ribbon, they are spot-on embellishments for a masculine card. And I love the finishing touch of adding the anchor to the envelopes, too!

Peachy Prayers

Two friends of mine recently underwent surgery. I wanted to make them cards and I knew that Peekaboo Peach was the color I wanted. I just love the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper and thought the smaller peach background was lovely. I wanted to keep the embellishments to a minimum to maximize the sentiment.  The Peekaboo Peach enamel shape heart was perfect.  Using the 3.5″ x 5″ Whisper White Notecards just adds to the adorableness.  Hugs and prayers to my invalids!

Foxy Friends Duet

These two adorable cards you see below are all the fault of my niece, Kalyn. See…I had looked once or twice at the A Little Foxy Suite (pages 56-57 in the Annual Catalog). I thought to myself, “Yeah. That’s super cute. I just don’t think I would use it since my kids are all too old for little critters.” Each year, I make a stack of Christmas cards for Kalyn to send out.  Well. Wouldn’t you know. We were happily looking at the new Holiday Catalog and she decides she wants a card made with the fox in the Host set Cozy Critters. Now, you know me. I’m like the whole “Give a Pig a Pancake”, “Give a Mouse a Cookie”, “Take a Moose to the Movies” kind of chick. Here’s how it goes: Get the Cozy Critters stamp set…gotta have the matching Fox Builder punch…which means I need to get the Foxy Friends bundle of the punch and the Foxy Friends stamp set…which means I also need the A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack. Oh yeah. Stampin’ Up sure knows what they’re doing!  So, without further adieu, here are a couple of cute Birthday cards that, dare I say it, I would actually enjoy getting myself as an adult!  Oh, Kalyn. Thank you for being my excuse!
