My stepdaughter Shanice asked me to make cards for her children’s teachers. She requested purple monkeys with glitter – hilarious! I had so much fun making these cards. I am sad to see all 3 of these stamp sets retire in 2 days. I decided to go with a lighter shade of purple to coordinate effortlessly with the retired 2013-2015 In Colors. I like to call them the “Ice Cream Colors”. So yummy! Look closely and you will see the Dazzling Diamonds glitter on each little monkey’s tummy. So darling! I hope Shanice agrees!

My club members’ orders were delivered yesterday by that beautiful man in brown…and I happily settled in to my crafting area to make their Thank You cards. I don’t know how it is for you, but stamping relaxes me so much and simply makes me happy 🙂 I decided to make 3” x 3” cards so I could use the Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack and make matching envelopes. I added gold metallic thread and sequin trim for sparkle…and they turned out super cute! The only problem I had was deciding which sentiment to use in Thoughtful Banners – there are so many! And I just love the fact that the stamp set is photopolymer. I was able to bend the words into a curved shape so it would nicely fit the banners. Another bonus to the clear photopolymer is that I had punched out 3 of the banners and then decided I wanted to stamp the outline on them. No sweat! Since I can see right through the stamps, there was no problem lining them up! Love that we can buy the stamp set and punch together as a bundle and save 10%, too!
Oh, Happy Day!

My beautiful man in brown (UPS driver) brought me a box today. Now, this was no ordinary box. It was a Stampin’ Up box. And this was no ordinary Stampin’ Up box. THIS WAS MY PRE-ORDER BOX! This innocuous box contained all the NEW 2016-2018 IN COLORS ink, cardstock and ribbon along with some stamp sets, a punch and Designer Series Paper! All these items AND MORE will be available for you to purchase starting June 1st. In the meantime, have a look-see at the 5 fun Birthday cards I made this evening that showcase the GORGEOUS new In Colors: Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum! Notice the adorable scalloped square that the sentiment is layered on. Stampin’ Up has introduced new layering framelits that have both straight edges and scalloped edges. Love! The paper stack, washi tape and Painter’s Palette stamp set are all part of the Playful Palette Suite of perfectly coordinated products. The adorable banner on the top left is an awesome bundle of the Thoughtful Banners and Duet Banner punch. This is what I love so dearly about Stampin’ Up! Everything goes together like tofu and nooch!

I just absolutely love Paper Pumpkin kits! A surprise in the mailbox each month – never know what it will be, but I’m never disappointed! I knew as soon as I opened the April kit, the wreath was destined to be for my mom. She loves little wreaths and signs for her apartment door and yellow and green are her favorite colors! Perfect! This kit came with everything I needed to make the wreath, with enough left over for fun embellishments on the matching Mother’s Day card I made for her. The only extras I added on the wreath are the large pearls. One lonely, little cotton paper flower was left, so I put that on the bottom left corner of the envelope to pull everything together.
Monthly subscription boxes are all the rage right now. And so cost effective, too! It’s only $20 plus tax (shipping is included)! You get a fun kit with everything you need to make that month’s project, including a matching ink spot. And, as a subscriber, you can purchase past kits and refills, too! You can choose between pre-paying for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, or month-to-month billing. Super fun!
P.S. Don’t tell my mom what I made her yet! She’s getting it on Sunday!

I had been eye-balling the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit in the Annual Catalog (page 155) for quite a while when I first saw it. It has an exclusive stamp set that you cannot purchase separately and I really wanted it. I decided to buy the kit last fall…and then it sat on my table for the longest. I had opened the box a couple times to look at the pretty embellishments and designs, but that was as far as I had gotten. Last night, though, I decided to break the plastic open to make a couple Birthday cards. About 2 hours later, I had made ALL 20 CARDS! They were so easy, fun and sweet! And I love the heavy cardstock bases. Nothing cheap about these! Everything you need is included in the kit – card bases, wooden embellishments, stamps, stamp block, Night of Navy and Watermelon Wonder Ink Spots, Washi tape, die cut stickers and die cut flowers, glue dots and dimensionals and all the matching envelopes! The kit makes 3 sizes of cards – standard 5 1/2 x 4, notecard 3 1/2 x 5, and cute little square 4 x 4. The exclusive stamp set has several all-occasion greetings, but I ended up making all Birthday cards, so I used 6 stamps in the set.
This kit is an awesome value at just $35. Let me know if you want one!
