Udderly Fantastic JoAnn

Today’s card will deviate from the fall/winter cards most people post during this time of the year. My sweet friend, JoAnn, is a huge cow fanatic…anything and everything that looks like, or even appears to look like, cows make her giggle with happiness. The woman even has a MOO-ing ringtone on her phone! She’s quite a lively, fun person and you can’t help but to laugh when you’re with her. I had no choice but to make her a cow Birthday card…and this stamp just screams happy, bright colors. I added a little bit of the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint on the daisy for some dimension and some Wink of Stella to the leaves and rain boots. Hilarious!

Snowball Juggling in a Winter Wonderland

Here’s another fun card from the Let It Snow Suite on pages 18-21 of the Holiday Catalog. I told you yesterday I would play with the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint soon…and I couldn’t stop thinking about it until I did it! With this card, I wanted to show off the sparkling glitter on the trees, so I opted for the smaller, snowball juggling snowman and placed him off to the side. I’m sorry you can’t see that detail on the paper, but believe me…it’s there! I decided to stamp the inside with the sentiment “Winter Wonderland” from Everything Festive because that’s all I could think about with those fun trees.

Snowman Juggling in a Winter Wonderland

Here’s a close up of the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint. It’s so much fun! Just make sure your heat tool is already hot when you start and it only takes a few seconds to see it change from liquid to puff! Oh – and if you look at the middle tree above the snowman, you can catch a little glimpse of the glitter on the tree.

Snuggly Snowman

Have you seen the Let It Snow Suite on pages 18-21 of the Holiday Catalog? OMGoodness! Those little snowmen are so adorable! And what really takes the cake are the felt hats, scarves and mittens in the Embellishment Kit! I knew the moment I laid eyes on the suite that I was going to have snowmen Christmas cards this year! Here’s a snip from the catalog:

main shot - brighten hill on right side in back to create horizon

And here’s the adorable card I made last night. I stamped the snowman in Memento Tuxedo Black so I could use the Stampin Blends for the nose and slight blue shadow on the right side. I simply had to incorporate some felt pieces and the snowman is so happy to be keeping warm! I’ll be playing around with this suite for a bit, so I’m sure I’ll have some samples coming up that incorporate the Winter Knit 3D embossing folder as well as the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint.

A Country Recovery

Today’s card was created for the ever lovely Jean, who is laid up in a rehab facility, due to a broken femur.  She loves yellow and green so I naturally used those colors for the base and layers. I love the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder and knew it would make a gorgeous backdrop for the watering can by using Copper Foil. I kept the copper theme going with the embossing powder for the sentiment in the Healing Hugs set as well as the Designer Elements.

A Country Recovery
On this close-up, you can see how I used the new Snowfall Accents Puff Paint (available in the 2019 Holiday Catalog) to mimic cotton. I should have used a little bit more, but this was my first time using it and I didn’t want to go overboard. It makes for a very unique texture and I’m glad I gave it a try.

Seaside Dandelion

I apologize for how long it’s been since my last post. I had ankle surgery on September 11th and expected to be able to do lots of stamping while recovering. Definitely not the case when you find out you have to keep your ankle elevated above your heart level for the first couple weeks! I was able to sit down and do some stamping last night. I know everyone is into the autumn and winter cards right now, but I just adore the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper and wanted to base my card on the gorgeous shades of green. Hunter selected my stamp sets for me based on the leafy design. I think it turned out so pretty!

Seaside Dandelion

I decided to emboss the dandelion in white for a subtle background look. Here’s a close-up view for you:

The addition of Flax Ribbon and the Frosted Epoxy Droplet on the banner are the perfect finishers.

Color Inspiration from Sydney Joy

I was scrolling through Facebook yesterday and happened upon a photo that an awesome photographer posted. Here’s the link to her Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/kariizmaphotography/

Sydneys Inspiration Photo

As soon as I saw it, I thought out loud, “What a gorgeous color combination! I’m going to make a floral card in those colors!” (Yes I have permission from her to post her photo…if you don’t know, she’s my talented daughter.) Here’s the color palette, if you’d like to Pin it for future reference:Sydneys Color Palette

I decided to use lots of new products I recently purchased. There is a large magnolia suite in the Annual Catalog, but many people may not be aware that there is a smaller, coordinating one in the Experience Creativity Beginner’s Brochure called Magnolia Blooms. It’s geared towards people that are new to stamping, but that doesn’t mean avid stampers can’t use the products, too. Click here to see the brochure.

This inspiration and color palette just sings “wedding” to me, so I wanted to work in some vellum. I ran a layer piece through the die cutting machine with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. I die cut the gorgeous frame with the Petal Labels Dies out of Mint Macaron and the magnolia is colored with Stampin’ Blends markers. It was missing something from the Mint Macaron layer, so I asked Hunter what she thought it needed. Why do I even bother asking? Her answer for almost everything is to sponge it! So, that’s what I did. I love the extra texture from it. I finished it off with Pearl Basic Jewels colored with the Bronze and Petal Pink Blends and I decided to use the gorgeous Petal Pink Variegated Ribbon that retired from the Occasions Catalog in the spring…but I’ll bet there are lots of you that have it because it was a best-seller.

Natures Beauty Sneak Peek

This sweet doe is in a stamp set that may slip past you in the Holiday Catalog – it’s on the inside back cover and is called Nature’s Beauty. It’s part of the Stampin’ Up Making a Difference program and $3 of every sale goes toward mental health organizations.

I used Stampin’ sponges to sponge the background in Crumb Cake and Seaside Spray. I then stamped the doe in Early Espresso and colored her in with the Light & Dark Crumb Cake and Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. I finished the picture off with Mint Macaron grass and Crumb Cake bare bushes. I decided to forego any twine, ribbon or other embellishments and chose to die cut a couple leaves from the new Gathered Leaves Dies. The dies are awesome because they cut and emboss at the same time…and without any special shim! Look closely and you can see the Crumb Cake rectangle is cut out with the Stitched Rectangles Dies so there’s a little stitched border. I layered this onto a piece of Come To Gather Designer Series Paper and put it all onto a card base of Mint Macaron. Such a sweet card. I am so ready for fall!
