Mirror Image Technique with Feathered Friends

One of my Stamp Club members asked for me to teach them the Mirror Image Technique. If you know me, then you know I went on a YouTube viewing frenzy trying to find the best way to create a mirror image of a stamp…and it paid off! After hours of pouring through different technique videos and trying each one out myself, I finally found the one that produces the best image transfer. A huge thank you to France Martin for this video: https://youtu.be/j4uwbKN7TIU

I decided to have my clubbies do the mirror image with the birds from Bella & Friends. The smaller parrot was part of the stamp that includes the dog with the balloon, so I confidently cut the stamp apart so I could have the little bird separate (see the cutting line in my photo below). So much easier! I used to be scared to cut my stamps apart…but now I rarely hesitate.

Bella Stamp Set

I knew I wanted to highlight the gorgeous paper in the Garden Impressions 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Stack and I wanted summery, fun colors. Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party were super fun together and make a very cheerful all-occasion card. I’m so glad we have Stampin’ Blends in those same colors, too!

Mirror Image Featherd Friends

Tip of the Day: When using a Dynamic Embossing Folder, be sure to use a Stampin’ Spritzer to lightly spritz both sides of cardstock with water before running it through the Big Shot. This step will prevent cracking of the cardstock from the deep impression.

Stamp Set:  Bella & Friends
Cardstock:  Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Garden Impressions 6” x 6” Stack
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black
Stampin’ Blends: Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Cherry Cobbler, Calypso Coral
Lovelies:  Faceted Dots
Tools:  Pinewood Planks Dynamic Embossing Folder, Layering Ovals Framelits, Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Silicone Craft Sheet, Stampin’ Spritzer

Give the Mirror Image Technique a try and let me know if you think it’s as easy as I do!

Grapefruit Smiles

The sharpness of the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper (what a mouthful!) is simply stunning. I love that all the sheets are Whisper White on one side and Very Vanilla on the other. And, as long as you use a light hand, you can sponge or spritz any color you like on it. I decided to keep this one classy and clean with tone-on-tone layering of the delicious 2018-2020 In Color, Grapefruit Grove. The faux bow using coordinating 1/8” Grosgrain Ribbon is the perfect subtle embellishment beside the oval sentiment which is layered onto a scalloped oval in Grapefruit Grove. I popped up the sentiment with Dimensionals and also popped up the full base layer with Dimensionals onto the card base. I am in love with this paper, stamp set and color!

Unicorn Horns & Glitter Bombs

Oh my! Who doesn’t love unicorns? Who doesn’t love glitter? I had made a thank you card for someone a few days ago and she loved it so much, she commissioned a set of 10 note cards using the same unicorn and fun Glimmer Paper. I figured I better package them up in a couple Acetate Card Boxes – gotta keep the glitter contained (just a little)! I was able to fit 5 cards in each box. Super fun! Now we just need to convince Stampin’ Up! to un-retire these products!

Stained Glass Duo

The Graceful Glass Suite is so eye-catching. The stained glass look is so gothic and regal – especially when you use the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers to color the vellum.

Here is a card with a layout I cased from a sample featured in the Demonstrator magazine called Stampin’ Success. The tone-on-tone of layering an embossed piece of cardstock onto the same color card base is so classy here. I just love it!

Stained Glass Thank You
Stamp Set:  Painted Glass
Cardstock:  Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
Specialty Paper:  Graceful Glass Vellum
Ink:  Old Olive
Stampin’ Blends: Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Pool Party
Lovelies:  3/8” Pear Pizzazz Shimmer Ribbon
Tools:  Simple Stripes Embossing Folder, Petals & More Thinlits, Big Shot, Magnetic Platform

For the bookmark, I first mounted the Graceful Glass Vellum onto Whisper White. It didn’t look right because I colored the frame of the vellum in Light Crumb Cake. I carefully removed it and tried it on Very Vanilla instead. It was perfect! I’m definitely liking this much better. The Detailed Trio Punch made the bookmark shape a breeze.

Tropical Escape Bundle

I just can’t get enough of the bright, delicious colors in the Tropical Escape Suite:

Blushing Bride Granny Apple Green Shaded Spruce
I decided to go with the same layout as the two Catalog Kick-Off Party cards I showed earlier. You can see those here. Instead of the circle and starburst, I opted to give the Tailored Tag Punch a try and I added a snippet of Granny Apple Green ribbon. Super cute!

Amazing Dragonflies and Brusho

If you know me, then you know just how much I adore dragonflies. When Stampin’ Up introduced their Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and coordinating Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits in the 2017 Occasions catalog, I was in heaven! I am so pleased they carried over and are still current. Today’s card features a beautiful Brusho Crystal Colours background and slight hints of sparkle with the new Faceted Dots in black. The “amazing” die from the Celebrate You Thinlits is the perfect font. The dragonflies are popped up using Mini Dimensionals, which are a perfect fit. I mounted the watercolor paper onto a Thick Whisper White card base for extra stability. It’s so much more vibrant in real life…guess you’ll just have to come to my Catalog Kick-Off Party on June 23rd to see it in person!

Blushing Bride Tulips

Oh my! I’ve made a few cards already using the new Varied Vases stamp set (you can see them here and here)…but this is the first time using the coordinating punch! These little tulips are just darling and the Mini Dimensionals fit perfectly on them. Everything mini is automatically adorable and this sweet little 3” x 3” card epitomizes it. The stamp set and punch will be available as a bundle to save you 10% starting June 1st. Counting down the days!

Here are some alternate views to try and show the tulip and vase popped up with the Dimensionals. It’s so hard to capture!
