Shhh…Kalyn’s Sneak Peek!

There’s a certain special someone in my life (my sweet niece) that I adore making cards for. I wish I was more disciplined in sending her cards frequently, but alas. Life. We all have good intentions. So, this certain special someone’s Birthday is coming up next Tuesday. I made a certain type of card for her that turned out so cute, I have to share it with you! But, since this certain special someone needs to get it first, I’m only going to share a little snippet with you. Super fun!

 Kalyn's Sneak Peek

I’ll post the card in its entirety after she receives it!

Happy Birthday, Kalyn! I love you!

Old & New – Thank You!

I always include a little Thank You card in my Club members’ orders when I deliver them. I appreciate all my ladies!  Today’s thank you card is adorably sized using Stampin’ Up!’s convenient Crumb Cake Notecards. They are 5″ x 3.5″.  Featured on the card is a wonderful new bundle – Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set with the Flourish Thinlits – pure love! I wanted a vintage/collage style and the Timeless Textures Stamp Set makes it work.  I added a quick stamp of leaves from the Flourishing Phrases set on the envelope to pull it all together.  The Layering Ovals Framelits are adorable with the tiny little scallop for the layer.  I hope they like it!

Peachy “Orange Peel” Technique

I have been so anxious to share this card with all of you! So, this is the “Orange Peel” technique that Stampin’ Up shared at Convention:

  1. Stamp your design on Watercolor Paper.
  2. Using a Stampin’ Spritzer, lightly spritz with plain water. Just 2 or 3 full spritzes unless you want the colors to run more.
  3. Pour on Clear Embossing Powder and shake off the excess. Since we’re covering the entire piece, there is no need for the Embossing Buddy.
  4. Using the Heat Tool on the high setting, melt the embossing powder. Hold the heat tool at an angle and you can see the ripples forming!

Stamp Club Sneak Peek!

I can’t stand it!  I put together the sample cards and the kits for my club that meets next Tuesday – The emBOSSing Queens Card Club.  I will be teaching them a new technique that Stampin’ Up featured at their annual OnStage conference this year. It’s called the “Orange Peel” technique and I can’t wait to share it with everyone! You’ll just have to wait until after my club meets!  So excited!

I hope you check back Tuesday night to see the whole card!  Squeal!!!

Birthday Bones

I apologize for my long hiatus. For those that don’t know me personally, my 20 year old son, Marcus, decided to join the U.S. Navy. I have been an emotional wreck seeing him off (that happened last week, July 7) and every time I walk past his bedroom (can’t bring myself to close the door). I need to get out of my funk. What better way than with stamping, right? Sometimes we need to close off our minds and not actually think.   Today’s card does just that. I decided to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) my own card from exactly one year ago from Marcus’ swearing in ceremony last week.  You can see the post from July 7, 2015 here “Camo and Banners”. Hmmm…camouflage. It’s like I had a premonition…
