More Varied Vases Color Combinations

I am absolutely in love with the Varied Vases stamp set. I am equally in love with the layout of these cards, which I first did in my previous blog that you can see here. I have been thinking about varying color combinations and I am loving each one of these for differing reasons. I am also declaring right now that Gray Granite is my new favorite Neutral color! It provides a quiet background that allows all the other colors to shine through. I can’t wait for you to see these gorgeous colors in person – mark your calendars for June 23 so you can come to my New Catalog Kick-Off party! I’ll have more details for you soon!

This one really makes the Blueberry Bushel pop. Such a saturated, vibrant color!

Gorgeous Soft Vase Blooming with Happiness

I just couldn’t resist! I have been wanting to put new colors Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather together…and I am not disappointed by the result! They were made for each other! And the lovely, quiet shade of the new Soft Sea Foam is beautiful with the tried-and-true Old Olive. This card features the stamp set Varied Vases, which will be available on June 1st. It also has a coordinating punch, but I’m saving that one for the next card. The stamp set and punch will be available as a bundle to save you 10%, too. It is such an easy set to work with. It is photopolymer, which means the stamps are clear. You can see right where you are layering everything…easy peasy!

Sweet Baby Bear UN-challenge

I had so much fun making this card. I’m entering it in FOUR challenges! I titled this UN-challenge, though, because it all came together so quickly and sweetly. When I read the Global Design Project #GDP123 – New Beginnings, I thought a baby card would be good. Then I read the TGIF Color Challenge #TGIFC145 – Blushing Bride, Powder Pink, and Sweet Sugarplum, I just knew the baby card would be great. Then I saw the Freshly Made Sketches FMS322 and knew it would be the perfect layout. And to round it all out is Watercooler Wednesday WWC155 – Anything Goes. I don’t think I’ve ever had a card come together as swiftly as this one. The color palette is adorable and I had to go with the Basic Gray Shimmer Ribbon (Sale-a-Bration) because pink and gray are gorgeous together! I won’t bore you with how many pink and gray outfits I had back in 5th grade. Thanks for letting me play along!

Happy New House!

My oldest daughter and her fiancé just bought a house. Sniff Sniff! My Doodlebug is adulting! I had already made them a congrats card using items from a previous Paper Pumpkin kit, but my mother asked me to make one for her to give as well. In the City* Hostess set to the rescue! I knew I wanted to do a line of houses and feature something that would put the focus on just one. At first, I thought about using a sunburst behind one house, but Hunter had a much better idea. She said, “Make all the houses gray, except for Syd’s! And make hers yellow, since that’s close to the color of the new house!”  So…as any good mother would do, I listened to the advice of my youngest daughter and here’s the final card. Super cute with those new Glitter Enamel Dots, too!

Jar of Flowers for Mother’s Day

It’s pretty obvious who this card was given to today. My mother is a wonderful woman that is always there for me. I love her tremendously! She bought me the Jar of Love bundle for Christmas last year, so I thought it would be fun to use it for her. Yellow, green and blue are her favorite colors and I threw a splash of pink in there for good measure. It was a little time consuming with all the die cutting, but she is totally worth it!

Peachy “Orange Peel” Technique

I have been so anxious to share this card with all of you! So, this is the “Orange Peel” technique that Stampin’ Up shared at Convention:

  1. Stamp your design on Watercolor Paper.
  2. Using a Stampin’ Spritzer, lightly spritz with plain water. Just 2 or 3 full spritzes unless you want the colors to run more.
  3. Pour on Clear Embossing Powder and shake off the excess. Since we’re covering the entire piece, there is no need for the Embossing Buddy.
  4. Using the Heat Tool on the high setting, melt the embossing powder. Hold the heat tool at an angle and you can see the ripples forming!
