Peachy Prayers

Two friends of mine recently underwent surgery. I wanted to make them cards and I knew that Peekaboo Peach was the color I wanted. I just love the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper and thought the smaller peach background was lovely. I wanted to keep the embellishments to a minimum to maximize the sentiment.  The Peekaboo Peach enamel shape heart was perfect.  Using the 3.5″ x 5″ Whisper White Notecards just adds to the adorableness.  Hugs and prayers to my invalids!

21st Birthday Shaker

I can’t believe I forgot to post this card last week. My son turned 21 and I wanted to make him (you guessed it) a shaker card. Hello. My name is Jennifer and I’m addicted to shaker cards. There. Admitting it is half the battle. I used several retired products on this fun card, but they were pretty popular products, so you may just have them sitting around your stamp room, too. Wipe off the dust and rediscover your love of them!

Flourishing Sympathies

I unfortunately needed to make a few sympathy cards. I decided to make all 3 with the same layout. All the stunning dies are from the Flourish Thinlits collection.  They are beautifully detailed and the Big Shot Die Brush works wonders with removing all the little cut out pieces. The Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder creates a nice, subtle background that doesn’t detract from the flowers and sentiment.  I mixed up the color schemes on each one. Which do you like the most?

Manly Missionary Birthday

There is a woman at my church who is in charge of Missions. She is responsible for not only teaching us and updating us on what is going on in the Church of the Nazarene mission field, but she also keeps in contact with both retired and current missionaries assigned to our district.  She asked if I would make the Birthday and Anniversary cards for both families.  Of course, I am delighted to!  The first card I was tasked to create is a masculine Birthday card.  I used to spend HOURS trying to figure out what to do for “guy cards” (that’s what I like to call them). Fret no more! Stampin’ Up has some wonderful masculine sets – including The Wilderness Awaits, which is the fox you see on the outside, and Wetlands, which I used for the inside sentiment. I like to keep the guy cards simple – a little bit of Linen Thread and nice texture from an embossing folder.  Using Stamping Sponges allows for soft, subtle color for my wild fox.

Foxy Friends Duet

These two adorable cards you see below are all the fault of my niece, Kalyn. See…I had looked once or twice at the A Little Foxy Suite (pages 56-57 in the Annual Catalog). I thought to myself, “Yeah. That’s super cute. I just don’t think I would use it since my kids are all too old for little critters.” Each year, I make a stack of Christmas cards for Kalyn to send out.  Well. Wouldn’t you know. We were happily looking at the new Holiday Catalog and she decides she wants a card made with the fox in the Host set Cozy Critters. Now, you know me. I’m like the whole “Give a Pig a Pancake”, “Give a Mouse a Cookie”, “Take a Moose to the Movies” kind of chick. Here’s how it goes: Get the Cozy Critters stamp set…gotta have the matching Fox Builder punch…which means I need to get the Foxy Friends bundle of the punch and the Foxy Friends stamp set…which means I also need the A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack. Oh yeah. Stampin’ Up sure knows what they’re doing!  So, without further adieu, here are a couple of cute Birthday cards that, dare I say it, I would actually enjoy getting myself as an adult!  Oh, Kalyn. Thank you for being my excuse!

Flourish Note

I have a friend that appears to be going through a tough time right now. I don’t know any specifics, nor do I need to. I just need to let her know she’s in my thoughts and prayers. I decided to CASE a previous card I had made (you can see it HERE). I decided against having a splatter background.  I wanted to keep it CAS (Clean and Simple).  I just love the sparkle of the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper and the random Rhinestones.  I’m sure my friend will appreciate it. Hugs to you!

Hummingbird Thank You

I always like to include a card with orders I receive.  I wanted to do a soft, CAS (Clean and Simple) card. I settled on the Picture Perfect stamp set.  It’s been collecting dust because doing 4-step stamping can be very intimidating. They are by no means perfect, but I think the hummingbird is lovely. It is perfectly sized on the Whisper White Notecards, which are 5″ x 3/5″.  I love the hazy effect of sponging Soft Sky and Pear Pizzazz for the background. The colors I used for each of the steps are:
1. Smoky Slate
2. Wild Wasabi
3. Marina Mist (stamped off once)
4. Marina Mist
