Gingham Easter Lilies

I had to wait to share this until after Easter so that the people receiving them wouldn’t see them ahead of time. Even though Easter is over, you can still make these cards…just change the sentiment to whatever you need. Even though some of these products are from Sale-a-Bration and are no longer available, I know several people that have these items. If you weren’t able to get your hands on them, you can always substitute with products you already have.

I have always loved the look of vellum on cards. So reminiscent of the cards I used to receive as a child from my mother. She knew how much I loved the crinkly sound of it. These cards use the soft, pretty colors from the Gingham Gala 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper Stack (available in the Occasions catalog) as my inspiration. I glued the lilies and sentiment onto the vellum, then placed adhesive onto the back of the vellum on the spots where the lilies and sentiments are. This way, when gluing the vellum layer onto the DSP, no adhesive shows through. I hope everyone liked the colors I chose for them!

Vintage Happy Birthday with Ranger UTEP

Hmmm…what is UTEP you might be asking yourself as you scratch your head. Well, let me tell you! It stands for Ultra Thick Embossing Powder and it gives the same effect that Crystal Effects used to! I discovered this awesome product while watching a card making video. The powder has large crystals, so it can be a little messy…just remember to heat from the underside so the crystals don’t fly away! It’s a Ranger product and I was able to find it at Michael’s craft store.

It’s a beautiful effect on the Happy Birthday Thinlits die. I made this card for a certain daughter who loves photography and aquamarine shades. I felt like going with a little vintage feel. I think she liked it.

Eclectic Wisteria Twist

The more I use Lemon Lime Twist, the more I love it…and it is so pretty paired with the soft Wisteria Wonder. Birthday Frenzy Twist

The minute I saw the Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper in the newest Annual Catalog, I knew I had to have it. The shiny foil accents were all the incentive I needed to hoard it. Sweet Elegant Twist of Watercolor Wings

I am beside myself with happiness over the new Embossing Paste!  It is so easy to use and a little bit goes a long way! I used about 1 Tablespoon of paste mixed with 2 drops of Lemon Lime Twist Classic Ink Refill and was able to create 10 card fronts! I was struggling to figure out what colors I wanted to use, so I consulted a handy website called My Create Ink to randomly select my color combination using the Color Lab. It’s an awesome, free site that you can browse color combinations or select one, two, or three colors and let it generate additional colors. I selected Elegant Eggplant and let it come up with combinations for me to choose from. It’s super fun!  http://colorlab.mycreateink.com/

Squeals for the New In Colors!

Oh My Goodness! The new catalog will be released on June 1^st and I am so excited to share the new 2017-2019 In Colors with you! This is a super fun collection and Stampin’ Up has really hit the trendy mark with these – I’m seeing these colors everywhere! From nail polish…to clothing…to pillows…to even an SUV that is Lemon Lime Twist! I got my hands on all these fun new goodies yesterday and had to dive right in. The Happy Birthday Thinlit cuts the cardstock beautifully when you use the Precision Base Plate and Die Brush. You will be able to purchase the thinlit and matching stamp set, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, as a bundle when the catalog goes live. And don’t even get me started on these FELT Bitty Bows! YES! FELT! They are beyond DARLING!  And what do you think about my background design? It’s as simple as putting 25 drops of Ink Refill into a Stampin’ Spritzer and filling it the rest of the way with rubbing alcohol. Then you just spritz a little bit! Since I used rubbing alcohol, it dries super fast.

And now to introduce our newest colors, from the top left going clockwise: Tranquil Tide, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst and Powder Pink. I’m having a tough time deciding on my absolute fave…it’s between Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist. Oh…but I really like Tranquil Tide, too! And Powder Pink! And Fresh Fig! I’m so glad I have 2 whole years to use these beauties!
