Gingham Easter Lilies

I had to wait to share this until after Easter so that the people receiving them wouldn’t see them ahead of time. Even though Easter is over, you can still make these cards…just change the sentiment to whatever you need. Even though some of these products are from Sale-a-Bration and are no longer available, I know several people that have these items. If you weren’t able to get your hands on them, you can always substitute with products you already have.

Gingham Easter Lilies
I have always loved the look of vellum on cards. So reminiscent of the cards I used to receive as a child from my mother. She knew how much I loved the crinkly sound of it. These cards use the soft, pretty colors from the Gingham Gala 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper Stack (available in the Occasions catalog) as my inspiration. I glued the lilies and sentiment onto the vellum, then placed adhesive onto the back of the vellum on the spots where the lilies and sentiments are. This way, when gluing the vellum layer onto the DSP, no adhesive shows through. I hope everyone liked the colors I chose for them!

Epic Retirement

Today we will take a break from the bright, bold flowers of the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper and instead take a look at the awesome background stamp Crackle Paint in the upcoming Occasions catalog. Isn’t it a great backdrop for this card?  A coworker/friend commissioned a male retirement card and told me the retiree liked guitars. I decided to pull out retired stamp sets for the retirement card. See what I did there? Ha Ha Ha! I am too funny! I also decided to use some retired cardstock, ink, and candy dots, too. Don’t let your retired products get dusty, folks! There’s still life left in them! I just love how this card is truly a mix of old, current and upcoming products.

Graceful Glass Vellum Birds

I am enamored by the lovely stained glass look when using Stampin’ Blends behind images on the Graceful Glass 6” x 6” Vellum. It’s a soft, lovely effect that lends itself to be a beautiful sympathy card. To achieve the bolder colors, color one layer and let it dry. Then go over it again. This will darken it up. One tricky thing when working with vellum is trying to keep the adhesive from showing through. For this card, I put Mini Glue Dots where each bird is. The coloring on them hides the glue. The vellum is adhered to a larger piece of Whisper White and the Gorgeous Grape Mini Striped Ribbon is attached to it before popping the layer up on Dimensionals. I chose a delicate, small sentiment to balance it.
