Today’s card uses products you probably already have on hand. Make one while you wait for your new goodies to arrive! The sentiment is from Biggest Wish, which I’m embarrassed to say I have had this set for quite a while, but this was the first time I inked it up. I love stamping the larger word in a pale background color and then the cursive one in a bold, bright color. Starry Sky really fits it here. Lots of texture going on between the embossing folder (Online Exclusive) and the pattern of the DSP along with the piercing on the label and added Wink of Stella on the flowers. Hope it makes you smile!

Hummingbird in Grandpa’s Memory

Here’s another card using lots of retiring and retired products. Again, make sure you grab your favorites before they are sold out! There’s also a ton of goodies on the Last Chance list with savings of up to 60% off! Just remember, though, that once they are gone, they are gone for good!

I am in a Facebook group called The Joy of Sets. Each month, there is a challenge. April’s challenge is to add a bird. My Grandpa Arent loved hummingbirds, so this is a tribute to him. I decided to use a little bit of the Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper to peek out from behind the flowers and sentiment. The DSP was a Sale-a-Bration item and is no longer available, but if you place an order and use my current Host code, I will send you a sampler as a thank you! The stamp set I used is a retired Sale-a-Bration set called A Touch of Ink. It’s a lovely 2-Step set. I stamped the solid detail outlines in full color. When adding the lighter background, I inked up the stamps and stamped once onto scrap before stamping onto the outlines. These stamps did not have coordinating dies, so I used paper snips to cut them all out. I glued down the leaves and popped up the flowers and hummingbird with Dimensionals. The background is embossed with the Woodgrain folder, but if you don’t have that one, there are several other wood styles you could use. I finished it off with a couple Brushed Metallic Dots and an adorable Bumblebee Trinket. Since I made this for The Joy of Sets challenge, I plan on sending it out to one of the people in The Joy of Sets RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) group. Both groups are private, so if you’re interested in knowing more, let me know!

Hey, Friend and Goodbye Razz & Zazz

The color refresh has been announced and we’ll be saying goodbye to some wonderful favorites including Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizzazz. As I was removing the colors from my ink caddy, I sighed. I love the new colors, but I’m still going to miss the old ones. I made sure I bought a pack of cardstock for all the colors. Make sure you grab your favorites before they are sold out! There’s also a ton of goodies on the Last Chance list with savings of up to 60% off! Just remember, though, that once they are gone, they are gone for good!

I wanted to ink up a stamp set I hadn’t used yet, so Dainty Delight it is! There are so many lovely samples I’ve seen with it and I love the dies and the Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper that coordinates. The DSP was a Sale-a-Bration item and is no longer available, but if you place an order and use my current Host code, I will send you a sampler as a thank you! This card has a full background layer (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) that I embossed with the retired Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. If you don’t have that one in your stash, use any that has a subtle texture. The next layer is from the Dainty Flowers DSP. I love the watercolor look and feel. I added a sprig die cut from Pear Pizzazz and next is the gold Simply Elegant Trim (comes in a twin pack with silver, too). Topped that with a die cut that I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Stampin’ Blends. Topped all the flowers with Wink of Stella and added the sentiment and Opal rounds. I really like how pretty this card is. However, the next one I think I’ll emboss the sentiment in white on the dark cardstock and then die cut (omitting the oval punch). What do you think?
