Deep, rich shades of blues and greens and purples absolutely thrill me. They are my favorite colors and evoke such pleasure. Please tell me I’m not the only one that is affected by colors in this way. Adding shimmer to them takes them beyond gorgeous! I believe this card epitomizes my life colors.
I started with a piece of watercolor cardstock and sponged on Gorgeous Grape, Night of Navy, and Pretty Peacock. I spritzed water on and blended them. After I dried it with the heat tool, it was still a little light, so I proceeded to do another layer. After heat drying it again, I loved it. But I wanted more…so I put a little bit of Frost White Shimmer Paint into a spritzer and filled it ¾ full with isopropyl alcohol. The alcohol makes it dry faster. I used a very heavy hand to spritz it all over the layer. FYI – if you rub on it, the shimmer paint will still rub off even after drying, so I recommend using a clear envelope for the recipient.
I stamped the sentiment from the Sale-a-Bration set Power of Hope on a scrap of Whisper White and die cut it out with the Layering Circles Dies and glued that onto a piece of Pretty Peacock punched with the new Label Me Lovely punch that is available in the 2020 Spring Mini catalog. I colored the linen part of the Pretty Peacock ½” Scalloped Linen Ribbon with the Dark Basic Black Blend and finished it off with some Pretty Peacock Rhinestones. If I were a card, this would be me.
