Horse Home Décor and Coordinating Card

I have a sweet daughter that loves horses. Imagine my happiness when I spied the new Let It Ride stamp set in the Occasions catalog on page 45. I knew it was perfect for her Birthday card and a home décor piece I’ve been wanting to make for her. I used a 9” x 9” Shadow Box frame I picked up at Michael’s. I love the look of the barn wood from the Holiday Catalog’s Festive Farmhouse DSP and knew it would coordinate perfectly. All of the supplies are Stampin’ Up! except for the horse die (Poppystamps). Her Birthday was yesterday, so I can safely share this with you today. Happy 19th, Hunter Danette!

It’s Hard to Say Goodbye Cat Sympathy

A friend asked me to make a card for her to give to one of her friends that recently had to put down their furry little guy. I decided to make two cards for her to choose from and used opposite colors. I sponged Dapper Denim and Memento Tuxedo Black on scrap Whisper White, then punched out a 2 ½” circle. The cat die is from Poppystamps and it is popped up with Dimensionals. I tried using the Dapper Demin Enamel heart on both, but it faded into the background against the banner of Dapper Denim, so I used the Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blends marker to color it black. Not a typical color for a heart, but I felt it was ok on this. The Simple Stripes Embossing Folder gives the perfect subtle background. The inside of the cards read, “It’s hard to say Goodbye to such a Special Companion.”
