Watercolor Wishes Quick and Simple

I decided to dust off a couple retired products – we all have them and we all need to use them more! A couple years ago, there was a beautiful card kit called Watercolor Wishes. I just love the stamp set and knew the “You’re Amazing” sentiment was the perfect size for the 1″ slot I created. This layout is super easy – just cut your top layer piece 1″ shorter than a standard layer. Then, put it in the trimmer at whatever angle suits you and give it a cut. Glue it down with the end borders even and…TADA! A quick, easy way to add interest to your card!  Isn’t this Designer Series Paper just adorable? It’s only available for a couple more days – free with a $50 minimum purchase – during Sale-a-Bration!

The other dusty items on these cards are the Brights Collection Buttons. OMGoodness…I have no idea how old they must be! Anyone care to guess? I topped the buttons with some Whisper White Baker’s Twine tied in a triple bow. I first made a standard bow, but the twine was a bit too small for the scale of the buttons.

The Joy of Sets – New Catalogue Blog Hop August 2018

Banner
I am so excited to participate in my first blog hop! There is a wonderful International group on Facebook called The Joy of Sets and everyone is welcome to join! You have hopped to my site from Alejandra Gomez’s and next up after me is Angie McKenzie’s. You can click on the arrows at the bottom of the blog post to continue on your hoppy way. This month’s topic is anything new from the 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up Annual Catalog. I have used two new stamp sets, one new color, one new ribbon and a new framelits set…such fun!

A coworker asked me to make a Birthday card for her friend…who just happens to be a Stampin’ Up demonstrator like me.  I know this lovely Birthday lady, as our daughters were on the same travel soccer team together a few years ago. As soon as I sat down to make a card, the creative juices flowed freely. This is the first time I inked up the Abstract Impressions stamp set and I am in love! It’s just so pretty!

Below is a close up shot of the gorgeous Poppy Parade Mini Striped Ribbon…and as you look at the photo, perhaps you’ll notice the added stitching on the Flirty Flamingo cardstock strip, complements of one of the decorative embossing dies in the Stitched Labels Framelits. That collection of framelits also includes the beautiful framed piece with striking detail as well.

This photo of the inside of the card shows how perfectly the sentiment in Detailed with Love coordinates with the Abstract Impressions set. And we pull it all together with a matching stamped envelope.

Garden Impressions Day 4

Today is my final day of highlighting the Garden Impressions 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper Stack. I thought the subtlety of Soft Sea Foam as the background color would help balance the boldness of the Melon Mambo roses. This sentiment from the Stitched All Around stamp set is the perfect counter-balance of whimsy. As you look back over the past few days, you will notice that all the cards use not only the same Designer Series Paper, but also the same ribbon and I took a mix-and-match approach with the Stitched All Around bundle of stamps and dies as well as the Enjoy Life and Rooted in Nature stamp sets and the Layering Ovals Framelits.  With just a few tools, the options are endless!

If you missed the previous posts, you can see the cards here for Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3.

Garden Impressions Day 3

Are you in love with the Garden Impressions 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Stack yet? The card I’m sharing for Day 3 uses all the same products as yesterday’s card, but with Pacific Point cardstock in place of Soft Sea Foam. I am in love with the font on all the sentiments in the Enjoy Life stamp set and this particular one is simply beautiful.

If you missed the previous posts, you can see the cards here for Day 1 and Day 2.

Garden Impressions Day 2

Today’s card shows off the sweet side of the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper Stack. The pinks and oranges are positively lovely with the Soft Sea Foam background and pop of boldness with the Shaded Spruce leaves. The font of the sentiment from the Enjoy Life stamp set is flawless with the roses and fits perfectly in the die cut from the Stitched Labels Framelits. Shaded Spruce has easily become my favorite new Core Color shade of green.
