Petal Passion Blends

I must admit that I felt intimidated by the new Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.  But now I can’t get enough of them – they are so easy to work with. I relaxed in front of the TV and colored in the beautiful flowers on one of the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper sheets and the vibrant colors are gorgeous with this black and white paper! The DSP makes 6 full card fronts, so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to try out different color schemes. I wanted the focus to be on the flowers, so I chose a small sentiment. To make it pop a little, I added a black banner underneath that I brushed Wink of Stella on for a little sparkle.  I love how these turned out and I can’t pick a favorite – I love all of them. Relaxing and fun!

Yes! Another card featuring Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper. But it’s so perfectly versatile! And I plan on actually using up this whole pack of DSP instead of hoarding it! This masculine card features the bold sentiment from the coordinating Lots of Love stamp set in rich Tranquil Tide. No extra tools are needed for this, other than the Stampin’ Trimmer, so you can make this quick and easy card in no time!

Colorful Smiles

I am so glad I decided to get the Color Theory Suite on pages 146-147 of the new 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. The colors and designs evoke a colorful calmness. So what better way to send a little Thank You note than with a relaxing drink and a lounge chair? Hunter selected Berry Burst and I decided to add a touch of Crushed Curry pop of Basic Black and I think it’s a lovely color combo! The new Mini Dimensionals are awesome – I used one little one on each drink to pop it up. So nice to not have to cut a regular size Dimensional into smaller pieces!

Banner for Marcus

Tomorrow is the day! Marcus’ Pass-in-Review from the Navy Boot Camp will be happening at 9:00 CT and I am so ready to see my son!  I’ll have him for the day, so I thought it would be fun to make a celebratory banner for the hotel room.  I was smart and booked a bedroom suite so there’s an actual living room to relax and socialize in.  I wanted to keep the banner CAS (Clean And Simple) since that seems to be the style that Marcus likes. I wanted to keep with the Navy colors, but just couldn’t bring myself to use gold…didn’t seem quite masculine enough. So, Kraft to the rescue!  OMGoodness! I’m so excited!  I will be sure to bring a whole box of tissues! (P.S. Don’t laugh at my shadow on the photo…I laid the banner out on the floor and didn’t realize I was in my own way!)
