How Sweet Animation Is for The Joy of Sets April Blog Hop!

April 2020

Hello to those hopping over from Tricia Butts‘s blog! I just love the monthly The Joy of Sets Blog Hop! Scroll to the end to see the complete list of bloggers. Our theme this month is Birthdays. A special lady in my life will be turning 77 at the end of this month, so she is my inspiration for this card, too, just like she was for last month’s!

How Sweet Animation Is

With all the down time we have right now, I’ve been watching a LOT of crafters on YouTube. To my amazement, I discovered a product that has been around about 3 years, but I hadn’t seen it until now. Animation stamps! They are so cool! The stamp set and grid I used are from Uchi’s Designs. There are several videos you can view to learn more about them.

With this being my first dive into animation stamps, I will tell you the third time’s the charm. The first “pocket” I made, I didn’t glue my flaps on correctly. On the second try, the pouch was a little too puckered. But with the third time, I finally got it right! Check it out!

A Touch of Tulips with The Joy of Sets Blog Hop

March 2020

It’s time once again for a super fun blog hop with my fellow The Joy of Sets hoppers! Scroll to the end to see the complete list of hoppers. Our theme this month is anything Easter or Spring. What a perfect time for tulips! My mother has always loved yellow tulips, so she is the inspiration for this card.  I adore this fun fold and thought it was perfect for the flowers. I used the Tulip Builder Punch with a sticky note to create a mask so that I could have some of the flowers in the background without stamping over the foreground.

Honey Bee Joy Fold for the Joy of Sets January 2020 Blog Hop

January 2020It’s time for another The Joy of Sets Blog Hop and I am finally able to participate again. The last time was June…shame on me! Our theme for January is “Something New” and boy, oh boy, do I have some new things! I decided to use the Honey Bee Bundle on page 30 of the new Spring Mini along with the coordinating Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper I earned for free in the Sale-a-Bration brochure (page 10). I decided to use more fun, free goodies by also using the So Saffron/Gold Bakers Twine and Sequins from the combo pack available on page 7.

Honey Bee Joy Fold Front
When I put all the products in front of me, I just knew I wanted a fun fold for this card. I decided on the Joy Fold. It’s been a couple years since I made one and I don’t know why…it’s so quick and easy and really adds a lot. I made sure to use the Black Dimensionals for the bees and hive so you don’t see glaring white against the black and gold. I topped all the bees with Wink of Stella. Visit Splitcoast Stampers here for the Joy Fold tutorial.

June 2019 Banner
It’s time for another The Joy of Sets Blog Hop and the theme for June is Something New! You can click on the links at the end of the post to see everyone’s exciting contributions.

When I found out the theme of this hop, I didn’t have to think twice. When the Stampin’ Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalog was released, I just about screamed with happiness when I spied the Noble Peacock Suite on pages 24-25. You may ask why? And with resounding giddiness in my voice, I will tell you it’s because of the colors! Blues and greens make my heart so happy! And for there to not only be Specialty Designer Series Paper with foil accents, but full 12” x 12” foil sheets as well? HELLO HAPPINESS! This card uses every single item in the entire suite (stamp set is used on the inside) and I couldn’t be happier!

I’m also going to regale you with the hilarious coincidence that the very day my order was received with all these goodies, I just happened to be at someone’s home where I saw this!

Sweet Cupcake Easel Card for the JOS Hop

january banner
It’s time for another The Joy of Sets Blog Hop and I’m betting you’ve hopped over here from Andrea Parr. If not, then let me tell you that this month’s theme is to make an Easel Card with something you’ve received free. I’ve chosen a Sale-a-Bration stamp set called Hello Cupcake. It is just darling. I wanted to keep with the #simplestamping theme that Stampin’ Up is promoting, so I chose to keep the embellishments to one item…sequins! I am in love with the adhesive-backed sequins. So easy – just peel off the backing and pop those little iridescent lovelies all over! Be sure to head on over to Maria Vanderform’s blog post next!

Country Home with a Coastal Twist for the Joy of Sets October Blog Hop

Banner

I am super excited to be participating in my second The Joy of Sets Blog Hop.  This month’s blog hop features the Holiday Catalog. You undoubtedly are joining me from Kim Oliver’s page and after mine, you’ll head over to Alejandra Gomez’s page. Links are below to help you hop along.

I adore so many products in the new catalog, but I have been absolutely in love with the Country Home suite since the moment I laid eyes on it. I knew I would feature that suite for this blog hop. I’ve made several cards already using autumn colors. You can see those posts here:
Grandma’s Galvanized Country Home
Tin Tile Country Home
Country Home with the Watering Can
Country Home with the Milk Jug

This time, though, I wanted to brighten it up and show that it is a beautiful set that can be used all year long. This is perfect for the spring or summer time as well.

Here’s a close up of the flowers so you can get a better view of the Wink of Stella I added to them. The shimmer from that, along with the silver detail in both the Galvanized Clips and the Silver & Pool Party Baker’s Twine  really makes it stand out.

The Joy of Sets – New Catalogue Blog Hop August 2018

Banner
I am so excited to participate in my first blog hop! There is a wonderful International group on Facebook called The Joy of Sets and everyone is welcome to join! You have hopped to my site from Alejandra Gomez’s and next up after me is Angie McKenzie’s. You can click on the arrows at the bottom of the blog post to continue on your hoppy way. This month’s topic is anything new from the 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up Annual Catalog. I have used two new stamp sets, one new color, one new ribbon and a new framelits set…such fun!

A coworker asked me to make a Birthday card for her friend…who just happens to be a Stampin’ Up demonstrator like me.  I know this lovely Birthday lady, as our daughters were on the same travel soccer team together a few years ago. As soon as I sat down to make a card, the creative juices flowed freely. This is the first time I inked up the Abstract Impressions stamp set and I am in love! It’s just so pretty!

JOS Abstract Details Outside
Below is a close up shot of the gorgeous Poppy Parade Mini Striped Ribbon…and as you look at the photo, perhaps you’ll notice the added stitching on the Flirty Flamingo cardstock strip, complements of one of the decorative embossing dies in the Stitched Labels Framelits. That collection of framelits also includes the beautiful framed piece with striking detail as well.

JOS Abstract Details Close Up
This photo of the inside of the card shows how perfectly the sentiment in Detailed with Love coordinates with the Abstract Impressions set. And we pull it all together with a matching stamped envelope.

Thanks so much for viewing my post and I hope I have inspired you to ink up your new stamps, too! Click on the “Next” arrow to hop on over to Angie’s post!
