Painted Harvest – More Than Sunflowers

I was so excited perusing through the new Holiday Catalog…and immediately fell in love with the gorgeous hand-painted style of the sunflowers in the Painted Harvest set. I simply HAD to have it! Imagine my happiness when I started seeing people posting samples with non-traditional colors!?! I decided to try a combo using bright, fun, summery colors…and I am thrilled with the final outcome!

After stamping my flowers, I began to assemble my card. To my surprise, I realized I used colors in which I did not have any matching ribbon. So, I pulled an oldie-but-goodie technique out of the bag and colored the White Bakers Twine with Berry Burst ink! I stamped a flower in both the corner of the envelope and the inside layer. Try not to smile when you look at these flowers!

Easter Blessings

I recently held a card making class for some super fun ladies at my church. We made two cards – one Easter and one Birthday. Today I’ll be sharing the Easter card. I can’t believe it’s almost upon us! I will admit that I struggled with this card. I knew I wanted to use the floral cross from the set Blessed by God and the Easter sentiment inside from the current Occasions Catalog called Suite Sentiments. My dear Hunter came to my rescue for everything else – she picked out the color combo, layout, embossing folder and embellishment!

Bermuda Dragonfly

For this month’s stamping club card, I knew I wanted to use my favorite Dragonfly Dreams bundle, but I wanted to give it a pop of color. Bermuda Bay works beautifully with the set and the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper. Hunter mentioned to me last night that I seem to be leaning more towards sequins these days instead of ribbon. I think she’s right – I love the sparkle of the sequins, but they do not detract from the main image on the card. These items are available now in the Stampin’ Up Occasions Catalog (click on the link below).

Banner Blessings Sticky Note Calendars

Every time my stamping club, The emBOSSing Queens, meet, I like to give them a thank you gift. Each November, it inevitably ends up being something I can put a calendar on. This year is no exception! The hardest part, for me, is deciding on the sentiment to use. As I was looking through all my sets for an appropriate one that fits throughout the whole year, I happened upon Banner Blessings. I haven’t used it in a while, but it was a great fit for my club ladies. And bonus – you can score it for half price in the clearance section, while supplies last!  These are so quick and easy to make. It takes just 2 pieces to make the base – 4 ¼” x 11” and 4 ¼” x 5 ½”. I found the easiest visual online at:  http://www.cardcreationsbybeth.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

All the sticky-note calendars use Banner Blessing photopolymer stamp set, layering ovals framelits dies, assorted 3” x 3” sticky notes, and the large size calendars from www.vippies.com.

21st Birthday Shaker

I can’t believe I forgot to post this card last week. My son turned 21 and I wanted to make him (you guessed it) a shaker card. Hello. My name is Jennifer and I’m addicted to shaker cards. There. Admitting it is half the battle. I used several retired products on this fun card, but they were pretty popular products, so you may just have them sitting around your stamp room, too. Wipe off the dust and rediscover your love of them!

Waterfall by the Seaside

I am in constant giggles over the fun fish in this Seaside Shore stamp set. And to think it wasn’t on my radar until my mom was leafing through the Annual Catalog and came across the By the Shore Suite (pages 92-93). She took one look and exclaimed, “Oh! I really like this!” So, using any excuse to buy more products, I decided I should get it…just for Mom, of course.

I adore making waterfall cards, so that is what I chose to make for a swap I signed up to do. The requirement was to make a “WOW” card…either a fancy fold or technique. Waterfalls are definitely fancy folds! If you’d like directions on how to make your own, check out the instructions at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/waterfall_card/

Bold, Bright & Fun!

When I first saw Stampin’ Up!’s Cherry on Top DSP Stack and matching designer Washi Tape, I squealed with delight!  Such vibrant, fun colors!  I used the Stampin’ Write Marker brush tip ends to color the individual words so the word “Your” is in Bermuda Bay and “It’s” and “Day” are in Cucumber Crush. I added strips of washi to the top and bottom, layered it onto Crushed Curry, and popped it up with dimensionals.  And we end up with a quick and easy card that is bold, bright and fun!

Its Your Day

Stamp Set:  Fabulous Four
Cardstock/Paper:  Cucumber Crush, Watermelon Wonder, Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack
Ink (Stampin’ Write Markers):  Bermuda Bay, Cucumber Crush
Lovely:  Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape

Send me a quick note if you’d like to order any of these products!
