I am diligently working on samples for my upcoming Catalog Kick-Off Party (June 23) and I just had to share this one now. I usually use blues and violets when I color in birds, but Hunter suggested orange and yellow. This is one of the things I love about crafting – if one person doesn’t think of something, another person will! I am very happy with how this turned out. The Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers work beautifully to color and shade for a more realistic look. The coordinating Birds & Blooms Thinlits make layering everything a breeze. The Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder really makes a bold statement on the layering piece of Old Olive. And the pièce de résistance is the shimmery Wink of Stella on the bird, flowers and leaves!
Here’s a close up of the shimmer Wink of Stella. It’s so hard to capture on film:
And here’s a close up of the Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder. It creates the most lovely, deep impressions. Just a quick spritz of water on your cardstock before you run it through the Big Shot will keep the cardstock from cracking.
